This delicious blend of Walnut, Avocado and Olive Oils is an excellent way to supplement your diet with Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids.
Omega 3 and Omega 6 are essential fatty acids that we need to receive in our diet because they can’t be produced by the body. These fats can help in the regulation and building of cells, building immunity, and can also help the body absorb nutrients.
These polyunsaturated fats are also important for cardiovascular health. A diet lower in saturated fat, supplemented by essential Omega 3 and 6, helps to reduce “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. Triglycerides are types of fat found in the blood, and together with LDL cholesterol may lead to deposits on arterial walls that can restrict the flow of blood throughout the body.
Omega 9 is important for heart health and blood sugar control. It is naturally occurring because the body does contain the necessary enzymes for synthesis of Omega 9 to take place. However, there are some cases where the body is unable to produce adequate amounts of Omega 9 on its own, so it is great to have the option of a supplement in your diet.
Puria® Omega Supplement Oil tastes great, with a neutral flavour and just 5mL (1 teaspoon) per day is required. Similar products can have an unpleasant taste and require as much as a tablespoon to receive the same levels or less of Omega 3, 6 and 9.
Puria® Omega Supplement Oil is also versatile and can be used like any other oil and we are sure you will have no issues finding delicious and convenient ways to use it.
The Nutrient Reference Values for Australia and New Zealand¹ published by the New Zealand Ministry of Health and The Australian Department of Health and Ageing, recommend an Adequate Intake (AI) per day of:

The Walnut, Avocado, and Olive oils are all cold extracted using natural methods – no chemicals are used in the extraction of the oils.
The individual oils are constantly tested before blending, as is the finished product to ensure that you receive the product in the best condition possible. There are indicator tests like Acid Value and Peroxide value that are used as indicators of the quality of the oil.
Peroxide Value measures the amount of peroxide present, which is a breakdown product over time. If a product is rancid or adulterated then it is likely to have a high Peroxide Value, so a low Peroxide Value confirms suitability to consume.
The specification for the Puria® Omega Supplement Oil Peroxide Value is <20 meq/kg which is consistent with international quality indicators.
Acid Value is a quality measure of fats and oils that measures the amount of Acid in the product. If a product is rancid or adulterated then it is likely to have a high Acid Value, so a low Acid Value indicates a product is acceptable to consume.
The specification for the Puria® Omega Supplement Oil Acid Value is <3 mg KOH/kg which is consistent with international quality indicators.
Acid and Peroxide Values change over time, depending on storage conditions. When stored at the recommended storage conditions, in a cool, dark, dry place, the Acid and Peroxide Values of Puria® Omega Oil will remain well within acceptable limits until the Best Before Date printed on the back label of the bottle.
